Juzoor reaches 1,000 beneficiaries through sessions promoting patient safety and infection prevention in Jenin and Tulkarm.
As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance patient safety and reduce healthcare-associated infections, Juzoor for Health and Social Development implemented a series of awareness sessions under the WASH4Health Project, targeting patients, their companions, and healthcare providers at Jenin and Tulkarm Government Hospitals.
The activities were carried out over a period of 10 days, during which 10 awareness sessions were conducted—five sessions in each hospital—reaching a total of 1,000 participants, with 500 beneficiaries in each location. The sessions focused on promoting personal hygiene and public health practices, raising awareness of infection prevention measures, and equipping patients and their companions with the knowledge and skills needed to safely and effectively manage healthcare at home following discharge.
The intervention also included the use of various educational materials, such as informative posters, to reinforce key health messages and encourage positive behaviors. In addition, 1,000 hygiene kits were distributed to the most vulnerable groups, contributing to the adoption of healthy practices and reducing the risk of infection transmission at the community level.
These efforts fall under the WASH4Health Project, “Integrated Emergency Interventions in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC),” implemented by Juzoor in partnership with WeWorld and funded by the Italian Cooperation.
Through these interventions, Juzoor reaffirms its ongoing commitment to strengthening community health, supporting the most vulnerable populations, and contributing to the improvement of preventive and healthcare services in Palestine.
